The Watervliet Historical Society is a not-for-profit 501c3 organization established for the purpose of bringing together those persons interested in the discovery, collection, and preservation of historical materials as they relate to the City of Watervliet. By doing this, we hope to create an interest in making this history available both for our present day generation and for all future generations yet to come.
Organized in 2007, the Society now has approximately 80 members. The Museum opened in 2008 and is located in the 1865 annex of the old North Dutch Reformed Church. The church building itself was originally constructed in 1839, and is now used by local organizations for a variety of needs.
