The Watervliet Historical Society Museum displays several collections of heirlooms and historic artifacts related to the area. Display topics include the Erie Canal, Ice Harvesting, Meneely Bell Foundry, Watervliet Arsenal, West Troy Pottery, local grocers and hotels, area churches, and much more.
The museum gift shop includes a selection of historic maps, books about the area, postcards, and gift items related to the City of Watervliet.
If you are into family history, we also have a collection of city directories, church records, and other area history information that may help you locate and connect to your local ancestors.
Members of the Society are on hand during open hours (Wed-Fri, 11 AM to 4 PM) and are happy to answer questions and tell you more about each of the displays.
